Wonderful home cooking (US$10 each meal) is served at this excellent guesthouse, and both the hostel and apartment offer kitchen facilities. Sleeping, bathing and eating arrangements are traditional, but the shared bathrooms have Western toilets. Ateshooni’s popularity means you should book ahead, especially at weekends.
Not yet open at the time of writing, a fine hotel with views across the desert, air-con, beds and internal bathrooms (rooms from US$60) was being completed by the same landlord as the Ateshooni. A whole villa is expected to be ready for rent in the same village by mid-2017.
