Offering the perfect rural getaway, this rural homestay in the middle of the Bavanat valley comprises a range of 35 traditional or modern rooms, some with private bathroom. Set in 8 hectares of garden and orchard growing pumpkins, peaches, walnuts and grapes, the family who runs the homestead produces their own organic fruit and vegetables, honey and eggs. Reservations are essential.
Lots of farmyard animals dot the premises, but the owners haven't had the heart to put any in the pot yet, so meals are vegetarian. In addition to running the museum, the Barzegar family arranges guided tours of the village of Bavanat and offers overnight packages that includes a night in the homestay, a walk or nomad visit and delicious home-cooked meals. Between April and October, they can organise camping with the nomads, some 25km (30 minutes' drive) from Bavanat, in the family's goat-hair tents.
