Istanaku Guesthouse

Manado

Colourful, whimsical, funky – it's nice to see a hotel in the city attempt a little personality. Of course underneath the cartoons, it's still just a bed in a box, but it's a clean one, the staff are super helpful and there's usually other hip young backpackers hanging around swapping stories.

Istanaku 2 is a slightly newer, slightly more expensive expansion across the street.
