Buton Backpacker Lodge

Top choice in Bandung

A brilliant central boutique hostel with well-designed eight-bed pod dorms, which provide more privacy than the traditional bunk-bed-style dorms (though you do feel a little like you're sleeping in a coffin…). There are also colourful, smart single and double rooms, some of which have shared bathrooms. Great communal spaces, a spread of traditional Sundanese food for breakfast and friendly staff round out the deal.

The hostel is in an appealing leafy neighbourhood among colonial Dutch villas. It's a good spot to arrange all your sightseeing needs, city tours (100,000Rp) and advice for onward travel. Rates increase slightly on weekends.
