One of Jakarta's more tasteful dining options is this midcentury Dutch house set in a leafy neighbourhood that offers respite from the surrounding mayhem. Its menu of modern Indonesian serves classy variations on the classics, such as Wagyu beef satay skewers, along with the likes of fish-and-prawn dumplings in spicy cashew nut sauce, or crispy duck with green mango and chilli relish.
There's a lounge decorated in nostalgia, and a more upmarket cavernous space to enjoy plates designed to share. All dishes are paired superbly with well-made, inventive cocktails. It's run by the team who own the popular Balinese bar Potato Head, along with Three Buns up the road.
