The authentic afternoon-tea experience at Windamere Hotel is a joy for aficionados of things colonial, with crustless cucumber and tuna sandwiches, shortcake, scones with jam and (albeit synthetic) cream, and brews from the well-reputed Castleton estate, all to be enjoyed while seated on chintz sofas. You need to book in advance and will probably be required to provide a cash advance or bank card details.
