Little Tibet

Darjeeling

A surprising number of Darjeeling's best-run hotels are Tibertan-owned and this is one of them, with a tasteful Tibetan theme throughout in the rugs, photos, prints cushions and even the bedroom cups. Nearly all the 24 wood-floored, half-panelled rooms look out towards Singalila Ridge. The restaurant often serves buffet meals which could be Indian, Continental, Tibetan, Chinese or Nepali.

There's a small spa with massage and steam rooms and well-priced gift and tea shops too.
