A multistorey hotel converted into a hostel, Live Free is an arty hub decorated in murals and run by owners who know backpackers' needs. Hammocks are strewn about, and there's a rooftop space overlooking the Ganges and a downstairs lounge with pool table and beanbags. There's complimentary yoga and afternoon chai, as well as free communal dinners every Tuesday.
Private rooms are spacious while air-conditioned dorms have beds fitted with powerpoints and lamps. The cheapest of the dorms are literally in a basement, and more suitable for those on a tight budget.
