Ganpati Guesthouse

Top choice in Varanasi

This old red-brick favourite has a pleasant, shaded courtyard as well as plenty of balcony space dotted around offering fine river views. Rooms are clean, painted with bright, fruity colours and feature tasteful framed wall hangings and modern bathrooms. The best have private Ganges-view balconies.

The least expensive rooms are in an annexed building down the alley, and although this lacks the ambience of the main guesthouse, you can still used the shared common areas and fine restaurant terrace of the main building (serving cold beer).
