Clarks Shiraz Hotel

Agra

Agra’s original five-star hotel, opened in 1961, has done well to keep up with the hotel Joneses. The standard doubles are nothing special for this price range, but the marble-floored premium versions (₹8850) are a pleasant step up, and all bathrooms have been retiled and are spotless.

There are three very good restaurants, a rooftop bar, a huge palm-fringed garden and pool area (one of Agra's best) and ayurvedic massages. Some rooms have distant Taj views.
