The Tirthan Valley's original and best-known guesthouse, Raju's has a perfect, peacefully spacious farm-garden location across the river, 400m downstream from Gushaini bridge. Foliage and the all-timber, low-ceilinged interiors create an artistically ramshackle if slightly spartan feel.
Access is by low-slung log footbridge or, in high water, an exciting basket-on-a-cable affair across the rushing river. Booking well ahead is wise for the April to June season. The kitchen turns out utterly delicious home-style Indian meals, there's a library, and information on local walks and fishing. It's an excellent deal for individual travellers.
