With a day's notice, excellent traditional meals are served in the relatively new but still very traditional kitchen of this homestay house. A full spread typically includes local specialities, including skyu or chutagi (Ladakhi pasta in thick broth), momo (dumplings), khambir (local bread), local chutneys and yoghurt, followed by apricots and washed down with chhang (barley beer).
Some Leh agencies bring groups here for the full experience, which includes a visit to the heritage house next door in the price of the meal.
