This superbly designed resort among lush woodlands is a gem of a getaway. Abundant use of wood, thatch and earth tones gives a soothingly rustic feel, but the luxury touches don't miss a beat. The multicuisine restaurant (mains ₹300 to ₹470) features numerous Northeast specialities; nonguests can come for lunch by reservation. It overlooks Umiam Lake, 21km north of Shillong.
