Located just outside CSMT, this budget eatery is a heritage icon, serving puri bhaji (puffed-up bread with a potato-and-pea curry) for over a century. The interiors are not fancy – there's no AC and diners sit on plain stainless benches – but the fun lies in listening to the stories of its owners, who set up this restaurant before the first train services started in India.
Gulp it all down with a glass of lassi (sweet yogurt drink) and a plate of masala or palak (spinach) puris. If you come for lunch, the thalis are also not to be missed.
