Hoppumm

Mumbai (Bombay)

Mumbai's best new budget eats are served up in this tiny – four tables and a counter – hipsterised Sri Lankan joint. It does absolutely delicious prawn moilee (seafood curry) and Ceylon roasted-chicken curries, served in hoppers (bowl-shaped, appam pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk) served alongside Keralan chutney-and-onion sambal. Portions aren't huge, so don't be afraid to order two items.

Bonus eco-points for bamboo cutlery and dishware.
