This excellent budget option high above Mangan is backed by a lush fruit garden and has dazzling dawn views of Khangchendzonga from the two bright, fresh balcony rooms (the cheaper rooms are contrastingly basic). A great perk of staying here is that you can generally arrange Dzongu/Lachung tours and permits for next-day departure since the hosts are the family of the Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM) who issues them.
Consider paying the extra ₹500 per head to add an excellent home-cooked dinner and very generous breakfast. The homestay is above two small shops on the corner immediately before the government secondary school. That's 1.3km up the diagonal road that starts opposite Hotel Mailling. Keep left before the football pitch.
