Common Ground Cafe

Mcleod Ganj

Pleasingly laid-back and sociable, this oasis of peace is pretty central yet faces wooded slopes from its shared tables and floor cushions. The great-value menu offers a sizzling variety of Chinese and Himalayan speciality dishes, from Taiwan-style tofu to Szechuan hotpots to Tibetan sha tag (a rich meat-and-veg stir fry). All-day Western-type breakfasts, too, and very good coffee.
