This place is worth visiting simply because it's Ahmedabad's longest-running eatery (going strong since 1900). Locals swear by the breakfast here, and the fafda (fried chickpea-flour strips served with chutney, papaya and green chillies) and gota (spicy batter, deep-fried) are also recommended. It's renowned for its jalebis (swirls of sweet, deep-fried batter), which are sizzled up in the doorway.
The restaurant is such an institution that it's been featured in many a Gujarati movie.
