In a well-spaced dining room off MG Rd, Chouka's menu is full of bamboo shoots, banana flowers, elephant apple, mustard greens, poultry in sesame-seed sauce, fish in tenga (sour) curry and items steamed in banana leaves. You'll be hard-pressed to find better Assamese cooking anywhere. The thalis, available for lunch and dinner, are superb samplers of owner-chef Dhruva Saikia's talent.
