Fossatún

Borgarbyggð

This family-friendly spot has a guesthouse, hotel, full cottage and camping huts next to a beautiful roaring waterfall. The spacious on-site restaurant (mains 1600kr to 3000kr) overlooks the falls and themed walking paths. It's located on the southern branch of Rte 50, about 23km east of Borgarnes and 18km southwest of Reykholt.

The friendly owner is a well-known children’s book author (minigolf and a playground keep things kid-focused) and former record producer (there's an amazing 3000-record collection, and you can play 'em).
