Wall decoration at Firkasz Restaurant.

Top choice in Budapest

Originally set up by former journalists, retro-style restaurant ‘Hack’ has been one of our favourite Hungarian 'nostalgia' eateries for years, thanks to the lovely old mementoes on the walls, great homestyle dishes such as roast goose leg in red wine (3990Ft) and Carpathian-style pikeperch (4490Ft), a good wine list and nightly live music from 7pm.

There's a Gypsy band playing Monday and Tuesday evening and a solo pianist the rest of the week.
