Chaplin's

Rethymno

Rethymno's most raucous drinking spot is this smoke-filled rock bar that's been banging out tunes since the 1970s. It attracts a boozy crowd of black-clad students and older rockers propped at the bar sinking shots between beers. While the music is mainstream rock, the DJs (from 8pm) are pretty forthcoming with any requests.

It also has terrace seating on the promenade, but the front bar is where things get loose.
