Ioannina

In the 2000s, Ioannina's famous silversmiths were all relocated from the city centre out to this rather grim concrete hub. In theory you can see artisans at work in their new digs, but in practice, the large shop here is often the only thing open. The shop stocks a huge variety of work, from jewellery to silverware sets to church furnishings, all high quality and at very good prices.
