It's almost impossible to overstate how good Peskesi's resurrected, slow-cooked Cretan dishes are, nor the beauty of the revamped Venetian villa in which you'll partake of them: this is Crete's finest culinary moment. Nearly everything is forged from heirloom produce and organic meats and olive oils from the restaurant's own farm.
You need look no further than kreokakavos, a Minoan roast pork you'll be dreaming about for years afterwards, though everything on the menu will leave you satisfied. The all-Cretan wine list is tops, too. Peskesi oozes rustic sophistication from every nook and cranny of its maze of stone rooms lidded by wood-beam ceilings. It’s located in a tiny lane off the northwestern corner of El Greco Park. Book ahead.
