Syntagma & Plaka

This Plaka restaurant, established in 1882, has live music from 7pm to 1am. It is now so legendary that it can feel a bit like a film set. The crowd – spread over two garden-like levels outside or in the cosy, mural-covered dining room inside – gets more local as the night wears on.

The food (mains €8 to €18) is plain but good.
