Evripides

Athens

Don't be put off by the somewhat divey location; this is a plain but excellent budget hotel. Most rooms have a little balcony, and all have minifridges – handy for longer stays. Book early, and you might score a room with an Acropolis view and bigger balcony, for only a tiny bit more.

Failing that, everyone can enjoy the view from the rooftop breakfast terrace and bar.
