St George Lycabettus

Athens

A high-end clientele bunks here for excellent service and posh rooms. Newer 'eco-chic' rooms have organic bedding and comfy Coco-Mat beds; other floors are styled to focus on young Greek fashion designers, photography and local composers. Up the hill in Kolonaki, it's a bit remote, but this pays off in views of the city (Lycabettus greenery isn't bad either).

Note the lovely rooftop pool is only open from May to October.
