El Barco

Western Georgia

Friendly, cosy and low-key, El Barco was set up to help refugees from Abkhazia and is a charming place for a meal of local Megrelian specialities such as gebzhalia (sulguni cheese in a mint and yoghurt sauce) and mchadi (cornmeal flatbread). Service can be hit and miss, but the overall experience tends to be a good one.
