Titaina

Ra'iatea & Taha'a

Near the end of the road north of Poutoru, this delightfully secluded retreat has three bungalows spread out on grassy grounds surrounded by blooming tropical gardens. The bungalows are far from fancy but are prettily decorated and kept scrupulously clean. Your courteous hosts speak English and goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay.

Meals are so good they are worth it, although half-board is a steep 5400 CFP per person. There are (free) bikes and kayaks to keep you busy, and great snorkelling in a sheltered bay a short hop from the pension. Joe Dassin Beach is a leisurely 3km bike ride away along the seashore. No pick-up at Ra’iatea’s airport, but the quay at Poutoru (for the Maupiti Express 2) is just 200m down the road. Cash only.
