Pointe Isabelle

Named for 19th-century British mountaineer Isabella Straton, whose grandchildren opened the hotel, this pleasing spot lies just west of Chamonix train station. Loosely vintage in theme (but with a whiff of business-hotel efficiency), Pointe Isabelle has rooms with a striking violet colour scheme, very comfy beds and glossy modern bathrooms.
