Château des Allues

Savoie

Painstakingly restored, this 19th-century manor house, built high on a hill with sweeping views of the Belledonne range, oozes elegance and romance. Overseen by welcoming host Stéphane, its five spacious rooms are variably furnished with four-poster beds, copper fireplaces, original artwork and antiques. Situated in St-Pierre d'Albigny, 35km east of Chambéry off the A43.

Stéphane’s cooking makes excellent use of the herbs, vegetables and fruit that grow in the award-winning garden (dinner menus adult/child €48/25).
