Every winter, this ice hotel is built 16km east of Ylläsjärvi off Rd 80. It’s a spectacular complex of buildings in a huge igloo with sumptuous rooms where you sleep in heavy-duty sleeping bags atop your icy bed. There's a neon-lit ice bar-restaurant (three-course dinner €60). Nonguests can tour the snow village (adult/child €8/4) from 10am to 9pm.
The reception building has wi-fi, as do non-ice cottages, which have saunas, Jacuzzis, kitchenettes and living areas.
