Right at Kiilopää's trailheads 17km south of Saariselkä, this excellent facility has outlying buildings with simple, comfortable hotel rooms, a hostel (offering HI discount) with a small kitchen, as well as a variety of cottages and apartments. It also rents out bikes, and camping and skiing equipment (best to book), and can arrange guided treks.
There's a cafe-restaurant (packed lunch €9; dinner €23) and a traditional smoke sauna that’s fired up regularly; it's free for guests and costs €10 for nonguests.
