The prospect of spending a night in this wonderfully characterful hotel is reason enough for visiting Mänttä; when combined with a visit to the world-class Serlachius Museum Gösta, the prospect is even more enticing. A 1938 Moderne-style mansion, it offers three huge superior rooms overlooking the lake. These have their original (wonderful!) 1930s bathrooms, good beds, parquet floors and seating.
Standard rooms in the same building are also large; some share a bathroom. There are also economy rooms in the former staff annexe; these share bathrooms but are both comfortable and attractive. Facilities include a kitchenette for guest use and an art-adorned guest lounge with a billiard table. The glorious garden has a sculpture-sprinkled lawn that extends down to the lake; it's a perfect place in which to while away an afternoon.
