If you’re looking for a casual place to unwind, then look no further. Refreshingly out of the ordinary, the nine rooms have a semitraditional theme and are set in lush gardens. The stilted rooms below the rim have the best views, though their bathrooms are up above, and there’s also a ‘treehouse’ for those not afraid of heights.
That said, Viewpoint Lodge is not for everybody. Some travellers have found the rooms a bit too rustic, and access to the two stilted units a bit tricky (read: steep stairs). Simple meals (mains Birr45 to Birr100) can be prepared on request.
