Baro Hotel

Addis Ababa

Traditionally one of the better backpacker hang-outs of Ethiopia; the cheaper rooms at the Baro are decidedly skanky, but opt for one of the more expensive options and you’ll be the proud resident of a large and fairly well-maintained room (some with a bath tub). The whole place has lost some of the buzz of former years, but it's still good when full.

The garden can be a fantastic place to meet other travellers, but falls flat when things are quiet.
