This little morsel of paradise about 14km north of Piggs Peak is a dream come true for those seeking to get well and truly off the beaten track. It lies on a river in its own nature reserve of lush indigenous forest. Accommodation is in comfortable cottages, stylish beehive huts or luxury safari tents overlooking cascades.

There’s a network of walking trails around the river and waterfall. All visitors (including overnight guests) to the reserve are charged E40/30 per adult/child. Excellent meals are available in the stylish dining area. Turn at signs indicating Phophonyane Falls; then it's 4.5km on dirt road.
