The Tinner's may well be Cornwall's most venerable boozer; it's believed to have been built around 1271 by the masons who constructed the village church. It's a real beauty: whitewashed and slate-roofed, with a beamed main bar, a crackling fire, bench seats, and thoroughly decent grub and ale (including the in-house Tinner's brew). Local folk musicians play regularly.
You can also stay at the White House next door (doubles £100).
