Whitby Brewery

Top choice in Whitby

Walkers are pleased as punch when they find this place on the clifftop behind Whitby Abbey. There's just enough room inside the modern brew plant for three tables – half the space is taken up by a gloriously incongruous Edwardian bar counter, behind which the bartender is well and truly trapped. There's a short selection of craft ales, and extra seating out front.

At the time of writing the brewery was applying for a licence to extend its opening hours into the evenings – call to check the latest.
