Just over a mile north of Uley, this well-preserved 37m-long chambered neolithic burial mound dates from 3500BC. The remains of around 15 interments have been unearthed here since the first archaeological digs in the late 19th century. It owes its nickname, Hetty Pegler’s Tump, to the site’s 17th-century owner Hester Pegler.
