This compact hotel, now owned by St Austell Brewery, is squeezed in along the winding Warren. The architecture is boxy 1970s, but inside it's a surprise, bright and beachy, with panoramic windows offering amazing views over the bay. Rooms are pleasant in cool blues, beiges and whites, but some are squeezed into rather awkward spaces, as is the tiny pool.
It's pricey in midsummer, but good value in the shoulder months. There's no car park, but it has designated spaces at the nearby car park next to the train station.
