Lily's Bar

Manchester

This basement champagne bar inside the 1761 restaurant is named after Madame Bollinger, whose nickname was ‘Aunt Lily’, though the bar itself has little association beyond selling the French champagne. It’s done out like a prohibition den with chesterfield chairs, a sepia film projector screen and a giant fish tank (yes, you heard us right).

It’s table service, not too pretentious, and actually has a better selection of cocktails than fizz.
