CitizenM London Bankside

Top choice in South Bank

If citizenM had a motto, it would be 'Less fuss, more comfort'. The hotel has done away with things it considers superfluous like room service and reception and instead has gone all out on mattresses and bedding, state-of-the-art technology (everything from mood lighting to TV is controlled through a tablet computer and you unlock the door with your phone).

The ground-floor canteen-restaurant works on a self-service basis, so you can grab a meal whenever you like it, and the bar-lounge is an uncanny blend of designer and homely. Reservations cannot be made by phone. Room 505 is a good size (14 sq metres).
