Opposite the Bank of England stands porticoed Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London since 1752. Built by George Dance the Elder, its magnificent interiors, including an impressive art collection and banqueting hall, can be visited on a weekly tour, which leaves from the porch entrance on Walbrook. The 40 tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
