Named for the red-flowered 'Fire Tree' outside, Arbol de Fuego is the pick of the hotels in the quieter Antiguo Cuscatlan area south of the city. The rooms are impeccably presented, featuring colorful local fabrics and natural soaps; those upstairs are a little brighter. The breakfast garden is an oasis.
The owners have invested heavily in making the property as environmentally conscious as possible and even run seminars on sustainability for nonguests.
