Surrounded by lush mountains and with green walls inside and out, La Casa Verde lives up to its name. The best rooms at the back of the house have wrap-around balconies with hammocks that look straight out at the rushing Río Pastas and hills, as does the large dining room downstairs. Rooms at the front of the house are smaller and less appealing.
There is a kitchen for preparing food, otherwise it's a 20-minute uphill walk (or five-minute taxi ride) into town. Efforts are made towards environmentally friendly practices.
