Sheraton Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo

This aging, sky-high hotel is once again called Sheraton, though now under the Marriott umbrella. A decent option relatively close to the Zona Colonial, it boasts sweet views out to the Caribbean sea and cheerful staff members, and Café Casabe, the breakfast buffet room, has a sunny and sleek look.

Rooms are modern and tidy, and the hotel offers oodles of event and meeting space for business travelers, as well as a spa, a pool and a 24-hour gym. Annoyingly, wi-fi costs US$12 per day.
