An expat couple runs Punta Rucia Lodge, a handful of cabins wonderfully situated on a beach just east of town. Though the grounds are nearly concealed and overrun by a tangle of flowering trees, you can settle into one of the cabins' front-porch hammocks or a dining-area perch for mesmerizing, unobstructed views.
This is a place to unwind and disconnect. A stairway leads down to what is, for all intents and purposes, a private white-sand beach. There's a good restaurant and SUPs are available for guests' use. The hotel can arrange for transport from Isabela (US$20 per person).
