Incongrous aesthetic choices and less than stellar welcoming vibe aside, the grounds of this French-owned hotel are immaculately maintained and some of the pop-art surprises with welcome color. There’s a nice communal outdoor kitchen, a hot tub and a small pool.
Rooms are in either the main whitewashed two-story building topped with a thatched roof (a tad sterile, but with high-pressure showers) or the roomy bungalows that have more vibrant colors, some with a nouveau-hippie vibe, others with a Warhol-esque aesthetic. Bonus points for high security: the owners have 24-hour video surveillance beamed to their iPhones.
