Hotel International

Prague

This stunning socialist-realist palace was built in the 1950s in the style of Moscow University, complete with Soviet-style star atop the tower. The rooms are mostly standard chain-hotel style, with all the necessities but not many luxuries. The deluxe rooms, on the higher floors, are more spacious and have good views over the city.

The building itself is really something special, covered in polished marble, bas-reliefs and frescoes of the noble worker. The socialist-style 'luxury' extends to the beautiful lobby. Tram 8 or 18 can take you to the city centre in about 15 minutes.
